Make it Modern Pillows with RBD - Awesome Argyle March 2024

Make it Modern Pillows with RBD - Awesome Argyle March 2024

Welcome to the March 2024 installment of the Make it Modern pillow series that I created for Riley Blake Designs! In this series, you'll find a collection of 18" modern pillows with a bold modern geometric design that you can easily customize for any space.

Find some quilting inspiration with this fun and fresh modern quilt block tutorial! Grab your favorite quilting fabric and thread to whip up your own quilted pillow to enjoy at home or give as a gift. Great for both experienced and beginning quilters, this quilt project will quickly jump on your to-do list!

Last month's block used alternating log cabin sections that look like they're bouncing around. It featured Sparkler Fabric by Melissa Mortensen. The colors I used were Baby Pink, Rose, Raspberry, Alpine, Jade, Orchid, Eggplant, Lake Blue, and Denim.

For this month's block, I used HST units to create diamonds for a minimalistic argyle pattern. I call it Awesome Argyle.

This pillow features one of the newer Riley Blake basics collections Dainty Daisy by Beverly McCullough. The colors I used were Peony, Lipstick, Alpine, and Mint.

And of course I did a classic grid at 1/2" with 50wt white Aurifil thread.

I am also excited to tell you that I made some fun freebie printables packet to help you plan out your pillow! They include a FABRIC PLANNING PAGE, a COLORING PAGE, and a FABRIC LABEL PAGE. To get them emailed to you, fill out the form below to join my email list!
