Getting Ready for the Interwoven QAL! **Plus a FREE project planning sheet!**

The Interwoven Quilt Along has started and I'm super excited! The pattern by Brittany at Lo and Behold Stitchery is awesome.

I fell in love with it when I first saw it. I decided to join in the sewing fun last week and pulled my pallet to do the modern version of it. This is what I came up with:

I love all things tropical (and bright!!!) and I kind of had a picture in my head of what I wanted to do. Then I found a perfect picture online at a florist shop that represented what I was thinking. This bouquet is 100% me!

So I picked out all my fabrics and I was really excited that I had most of them in my stash. I did have to get two new colors (Jungle and Valentine from my LQS) and I had to order a bit of Peapod online, but that was it!

I labeled all my fabric and made this color chart to help make sure I don't get my colors mixed up! Actually the painter's tape is just for this sewalong. I normally label all my Kona colors like that with a piece of paper and a pin.

If you'd like a blank copy of my organizational chart (shown below), you can download it free HERE!

I can't wait to see all the different versions...there have been some fantastic color pulls!

Until later, happy sewing!

Got my Sewjo Working Again! Let's tackle 2019!

2018 was busy and kind of rough. I love my teaching job, but I kind of let it overtake my life and I really didn't have a good balance. It just left me exhausted at the end of the day and I couldn't bring myself to sew or do other things I enjoy.

Therefore, I've made a change and am working more efficiently and being more diligent during my day, so I don't have to spend hours at night doing school work. I started that in January when we came back from break and it has made a huge difference. I'm now able to come home and sew for a couple hours each night and then a bunch on the weekend. I feel like it has totally changed my attitude and energy level. I love having my sewjo back! I've also set a goal for myself to publish some patterns of my own, which I'm hoping to get done by at least March.

I'm going to be better about trying to post my projects on here, but you can catch me daily on my Instagram page - @sewbrainy. I also figured out how to autopost all my IG stuff to Facebook, so if you're a FB enthusiast, you can see it all on my Facebook page - Sew Brainy.

I hope you join my in my adventures this year! Let's get craftier in 2019!
